Events in Copenhagen

 

The Copenhagen Fashion Festival offers a wide range of fashion related events and invites tourists and Copenhageners to join the celebration of Danish fashion twice a year (February and August).
 
The Night Film Festival takes place over 10 days in March, and features around 140 international films in their original languages.

The three-day Copenhagen Carnival is held over the Whitsunday weekend (usually late May), filling the streets of the city centre with parades, samba dancing and other organised festivities.

Beach bonfires are lit up all around the country on Midsummer Eve (23 June).
 
Distortion is Copenhagen’s largest clubbing festival in June, featuring a wide variety of electronic music events, street fashion exhibits and urban space art.
 
Bakkens Store Ølfest is a three-day festival in July with lots of beer, parties and music. Bakken is the world's oldest amusement park in Klampenborg, north of Copenhagen.
 
Roskilde Festival in July is undoubtedly the biggest event of the year. The festival consists of four festive days of rock, pop, soul, R&B, electronic and hip hop.

The Copenhagen Jazz Festival gets toes a-tappin' over 10 days in early July, but if chamber or classical music is more your thing, hang out for the Summer Festival with classical concerts at Charlottenborg later that month.
 
Copenhagen Castle Concerts offers free classical concerts throughout the summer in beautiful castle churchs in Copenhagen and Northern Zealand. Every Wednesday in May, June, July and August you can enjoy a concert.

Copenhagen Pride is a week of gay events, which ends with a big parade through the streets of Copenhagen. Every year in August.

Golden Days Festival is a large historical festival, which takes place in Copenhagen annualy in september. With art exhibits, poetry readings and theatre focusing on Denmark's 'Golden Age'.

BUSTER Filmfestival is Copenhagen's international film festival for children and youth every year in September.
 
In September for five days, Copenhagen Blues Festival presents an abundance of great international and homegrown blues music all over Copenhagen.
 
Copenhagen Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is a progressive film festival that takes place every year in October in several locations in Copenhagen, and the films are shown in different cinemas.
